May Random Sh*t es mi propia marca de pendientes de resina, donde he desarrollado desde 0 la estrategia de marca en redes y el producto web.
- Objetivo: hobbie monetizable
- Problema: empezar un negocio desde 0
- Solución: creación de ecommerce por fases
1. Contexto
En enero del 2021 empecé a crear pendientes de resina de diseño propio y únicos.
Mi objetivo inicial era una tener una forma de “descansar” el cerebro y explotar mi creatividad. Tuvieron tanto éxito que empecé a venderlos por instagram @mayrandomshit y posteriormente monté una web en WordPress y maquetado a mano (en HTML + CSS, sin usar ningún constructor visual).
+ de 200 unidades vendidas después, sigo sacando piezas y colecciones, para mi, editoriales o eventos.
2. Desarrollo
Ha sido desarrollando esta web yo sola y sin ayuda donde más he aprendido cómo solucionar errores extraños, cómo simplificar el diseño al máximo para poderlo maquetar en tiempos de “hobbies”, cómo crear yo las imágenes en Webp sin necesidad de plugins y a añadir plugins sencillos directamente en php sin instalarlos. Cuantos menos plugins, mejor.
Por estar sin constructor visual es muy rápida y de diseño simple. Tiene iconos en gif para aportarle movimiento y mostrar una apariencia más de sticker.
En cuanto a las imágenes, están todas editadas y subidas ya en Webp, con el tamaño justo, mejorando así su visualización y el tiempo de carga.
3. Conclusión
Puedo decir que estoy muy contenta con el resultado. He creado una web en muy poco tiempo que funciona perfectamente sin constructor, la puedo enseñar en el móvil en cualquier parte y carga rapidísimo.
Está claro que las webs están “vivas” y hay que seguir testeando, probando y actualizando siempre, por lo que el diseño y la usabilidad seguirá mejorando con el tiempo.
UPDATES marzo 2023
- La web ya tiene la tienda activada, pasarela de pago por stripe + pago por apple / google pay.
- He revisado y corregido errores de usabilidad como información no relevante (sky etc), añadido condiciones de compra…
- He creado productos variables que son colecciones enteras donde puedes elegir modelo, tipo etc.
- He creado un sistema de newsletter para informar de novedades y aumentar las ventas.

1. Background
In January 2021 I started creating unique resin earrings of my own design.
My initial goal was to have a way to “rest” my brain and exploit my creativity. They were so successful that I started selling them on instagram @mayrandomshit and later I set up a website in WordPress catalogue format and handmade layout (HTML + CSS, without any visual builder).
+ After 200 units sold, I continue to produce pieces and collections for myself, publishers and events.
2. Development
It has been developing this website by myself and without help where I have learnt how to solve strange errors, how to simplify the design as much as possible to be able to layout it in “hobby” times, how to create the images myself in Webp without the need of plugins and to add simple plugins directly in php without installing them. The less plugins, the better.
As it has no visual builder, it is very fast and simple in design. It has gif icons to give it movement and a more sticker-like appearance.
As for the images, they are all edited and already uploaded in Webp, with the right size, thus improving their visualisation and loading time.
3. Conclusion
I can say that I am very happy with the result. I have created a website in a very short time that works perfectly without a builder, I can show it on the mobile anywhere and it loads very fast, and being made in Woocommerce, when I want to enable the purchase option, I would only have to make visible the purchase buttons and add the payment information.
It is true that websites are “alive” and we must always keep testing, experimenting and updating them, so the design and usability will continue to improve over time.
